ABOUT UGOOD
INTRODUCTION
United Global Organization of Development-UGOOD is a non-profit, non-political and non-Government organization, duly registered with the Government of Pakistan under Trust Act 1882 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The organization was registered on June 3rd, 2003 with the ambition to strive for the sustainable human developments by working in the areas of Education, Health & Nutrition, Environment & Climate Change, Child Rights & Protection, Women Economic Empowerment, Youth Development, Volunteerism, Animal Welfare, Peacebuilding and Disaster Management & Relief.
UGOOD is a local NGO, having head office in Islamabad and representative offices in all major parts of the country. While working for the betterment of human beings at all levels, UGOOD has also taken various initiatives to develop cooperation and linkage between various Social Sectors and Community Organizations in the undeveloped and neglected areas of Pakistan so that the organizations belonging to these areas may be given a voice to raise the particular issues of their specific areas. By optimizing resources and sharing vital information, UGOOD provides a means for CSOs/NGOs and Networks to become more effective in completing their vital tasks.
UGOOD has been awarded with “PCP and Tax Exemption Certificates” by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) – Government of Pakistan.
BACKGROUND
Poverty, illiteracy, lack of proper healthcare facilities, gender discrimination & unemployment are the main hindrance to economic empowerment of Pakistan and are cause of social instability. Realizing this fact, United Global Organization of Development (UGOOD) was formed by a group of socially responsible young and intellectual individuals, who wanted to bring a positive change in the lives of the 42 Million population of Pakistan who is living below the poverty line. Having head office at Islamabad, UGOOD through its affiliates has presence in all the major cities of Pakistan and in the other countries as well. The dedicated members of UGOOD have distinguished academic, social and professional backgrounds and are highly motivated to work at their best capacity for the development of the country.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
One of the main objectives of UGOOD is to alleviate poverty among the Rural Women through Technical Skill Development, Training and Development of Home Based Women Workers and creating Market linkages to improve Marketability and Competitiveness of their Products.
Undertake skill development programs for Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) and establish Vocational Training Centers and Industrial Homes for the socio-economic development of women from vulnerable and unprivileged communities with the approach to eradicate poverty by providing them employable skills, facilitation for home based income generating activities and developing market linkages.
Increase capacity and educate Young people especially adolescent girls and young women to make or influence decisions regarding their reproductive health and rights to prevent Early Marriages and Health Complexities.
Empower all young people (especially girls) to educate, develop and sustain the knowledge, attitudes, capacities, skills and behaviors needed to make healthy choices and develop Leadership roles.
Improve access to health facility for deprived community and organize medical camps, vaccination and screening especially for Youth regarding the prevention of HIV/Aids, TB, Malaria and Hepatitis through awareness raising campaigns, print & Electronic media, trainings, workshops, seminars, Forums and other informal means.
Improve Hygiene behavior through awareness campaigns and ensure people have access to save water supply and sanitation services. Advocate for legislative reforms and coordination with Government on the development of WASH Policies and Action Plans.
Plan and executive the positive recreational and sports activities for the Youth and create awareness against social evils like, drug addiction, begging by providing them a forum to discuss and resolve their issues and problems.
Promote and protect Child Rights by empowering, educating and providing them protective and caring environment through awareness raising and advocacy campaigns.
Advocate for policy and legislative reforms and build pressure groups by networking with national and international civil societies to empower and protect the Children and Youth Rights and lobbying with Government for legislations and resource allocation.
Organize women and Youth into formal self-help organizations; Community Based Organizations-CBOs to identify and solve their problems at grass-root level on Self-Help Basis especially related to women rights, children rights and Youth Rights.
Working for the Welfare of Equines and Enhancing Livelihood of the Communities through Civil Society Networking and Engagement.
Establish partnerships and strategic alliances with national and international Civil Societies/CBOs/CCBs and Civic Societies that shares our Values and Goals.
To create and support a culture of volunteerism, build up a caring community, enhance the sense of social belongings and increase knowledge transfer and opportunities. Design and execute programs by promoting Volunteerism for emergency disaster relief and rehabilitation in case of natural or human calamity.
PHILOSOPHY AND METHOD OF WORK
UGOOD works on “GOLDEN PRINCIPLE OF SELF HELP” and number of program activities are carried out and implemented through male and female volunteers. UGOOD encourages the self-help potential of rural and urban communities through the establishment of social organizations (CBOs), which support them in the formation of viable local institutions. Donors, Philanthropist and individuals concerned with the development and betterment of society, especially education and skill development, help to run various program and activities. UGOOD at present operates all over in Pakistan through its affiliated and associated local Partners. Currently UGOOD has more than 515 CBOs and around 1250 registered NGOs from all over in Pakistan including Kashmir, NWFP, Fata, Fana and Gilgit Baltistan. The support, which UGOOD offers to communities, concentrates on the promotion and management of Education, Health, Environment, Women Economic Empowerment and Volunteerism through our partners and self help approach. UGOOD is looking forward for new partners/donors to help and assist it in expanding and further strengthening its program activities. This includes strengthening and introducing the program to new areas and villages, adding more features to increase its impact in rural and urban communities for Poverty Alleviation and generate employment opportunities.
